LES PAUL AWARD

The TEC Awards Hall of Fame was created in 1988 to recognize those individuals, living or deceased, whose careers have best exemplified the spirit of creative and technical excellence in professional recording and sound.

Les Paul Award Winner - Slash
2014 INDUCTEE:
SLASH
A man of many talents, Slash has amassed album sales of more than 100 million copies, garnered a GRAMMY® Award and seven GRAMMY® nominations, and is an inductee of The Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. In addition, Time magazine named Slash as #2, behind Jimi Hendrix, on its list of the “Ten Best Electric Guitar Players of All-Time.”
As Guns N’ Roses’ lead guitarist, Slash helped to create signature guitar riffs on their #1 hits, “Sweet Child o’ Mine” and “Welcome to the Jungle.” After leaving the band, he went on to critical acclaim with Slash’s Snakepit and achieved global success with the super-group Velvet Revolver. His self-titled biography was critically well-received, climbing the bestseller list in both the U.S. and U.K., and hitting #8 on the New York Times Bestsellers List.
Slash also landed on the top of the music charts with his first solo album, Slash (2010), which featured Ozzy Osbourne and Fergie, among others. Slash and his band (featuring Myles Kennedy and The Conspirators) released the critically acclaimed Apocalyptic Love in 2012, storming the Billboard Top 200 Album Chart at #4 as the top rock debut and producing his first-ever #1 solo hits, “You’re a Lie” and “Standing in the Sun.”
In 2013, Slash released Nothing Left to Fear, the first-ever motion picture co-produced by Slasher Films, his film/TV production company. In September of 2014, Slash and his band unleashed their new album, World on Fire, to worldwide acclaim. It was his third straight solo album to debut in the Top 10 and achieved more than a dozen Top 10 debuts around the world. His band is currently in the midst of its European tour.
A passionate music advocate, Slash vigorously supports efforts to revitalize music education programs in public schools and is an honorary board member of Little Kids Rock.
